Hey, it’s Tarryn here, and I’m getting ready to open the founding memberships to Best Body today (Wednesday)…. I hope you’re getting ready to ROCK the best version of you. Anyway, I’ve got some great stuff in this blog post for you today….like…
- I’m announcing the winners of the Best Body Membership Contest.
- A brief intro to what Best Body is about (at its core – pardon the pun).
The Main Purpose of Best Body
The main purpose of Best Body is to HELP YOU become the best version of you – by getting better core strength, flexibility, tone, and achieve healthy weight loss in a supportive and encouraging environment – and feel good about making yourself a priority.
Best Body was created after it became clear to us that…
- Too many people suffer from back problems, shoulder issues, knee pain, neck pain and migraines unnecessarily
- Most people put themselves towards the bottom of their priority list – which leaves them exhausted and lethargic both mentally and physically
- Too many people are not comfortable in their own skin and feel guilty about spending time doing something good for themselves
Anyway, Best Body is, quite literally, a project. And over the course of a minimum of 12 weeks – you’ll be building a better body and a better you. I will be too!
In fact, I’ll be selecting someone’s journey…and turning it into a successful inspiring case study. To help others earlier on in their journeys know what is possible.
We won’t only be teaching Best Body North Perth members how to build a better body.
We’ll be showing them as well.
- How to get fit and health in a sustainable way
- How to be motivated to continue making progress
- How to be strong, pain free, and have a healthy weight body
- How to make yourself a priority without anyone you care about missing out
- How to be the best version of you
- How to regain confidence to wear the clothing you love
- How to feel good about yourself and be a better person for the people you love
- How be at your best without the injuries
- How to calm your mind and body when it matters most
- How to be comfortable in your own skin
- How strengthen muscles to offload and protect your joints to keep you moving smoothly
- How to be aligned with a stronger mind
- How to move away from back problems, shoulder issues, knee pain, neck pain and migraines
- How to maximize your pregnancy journey and bounce back afterwards with your post-baby body
Winners of the Best Body Membership Contest Announced
We had SO MANY ridiculously good entries for the Best Body North Perth Membership contest. And thank YOU for all the amazing and thoughtful entries.
Picking two winners was very difficult and I couldn’t do it. So I’ve decided to split it into 4 winners of 3 month memberships.
It’s a little delayed as my 2 year old daughter decided not to sleep very well last night after arriving to Tasmania fairly late.
But after lots of reading and thinking today, I’ve just chosen the winners.
Anyway, if you get a chance, it would mean a lot to me if you could take a quick sec and congratulate the winners in the comments section on the competition page – click here.
Winning Entry #1: Crystal Berger (Best Body North Perth Ambassador)
“Four years ago I was diagnosed with Ross River Virus which made me incredibly lethargic and unable to continue the ballet, yoga and swimming I was doing to keep fit. For two years after being diagnosed I suffered with arthritic symptoms unable to open a jar or a door handle at age 29. Frustrated, medicated and gaining weight, my mum saw the Best Body (Happy Physio) advertisement on Facebook for a free pilates body assessment. I went along and saw India, and felt understood, supported and in very safe hands. This was the beginning of my journey back to health! I have now been doing 3-5 sessions per week for a year with Michelle at the North Perth studio. I’m there so much that Best Body North Perth is my second home. I recruited my husband (and multiple other friends) to join last year in the lead up to our wedding and we have both lost 10kgs each and gained confidence in what our bodies are capable of. I’m off all medication, I have lots of energy and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life! Thank you Best Body for giving me my confidence back and helping me to become the best version of me. This membership would be an amazing wedding gift from my second home and would enable me to smash even more fitness goals like my plan to swim to Rottnest!

Winning Entry #2: Jovana (Best Body North Perth Ambassador)
I started Reformer Pilates at your Mount Lawley studio about 3 months ago – this is the best thing I have done in a long time for myself.
I struggle with Hashimoto’s and have been going through IVF process for the last 5 years – with no success.
Doing Reformer Pilates for the last few months has starterted to give me mental clarity, more energy and endurance, something I struggled with on a daily basis with Hashimoto’s.
I am also hoping to restore my body to a point where it is ‘auto-immune free’ and finally have a baby of my dreams.
Thanks a lot to BB, yourself and Scott for being part of the team,
Winning Entry #3: Andrew Seabert (Best Body North Perth Ambassador)
I’m working with Kalan at Mt Lawley Best Body due to unfortunate health issues from 2018 (a challenging year ), most recently being diagnosed with stage 4 Colon cancer in September and as part of a holistic approach to “CRUSHING IT” I’m targeting rebuilding my body as the corner stone of the overall treatment program, that I can directly affect the outcome. With the medical side of my treatment I have awesome medical experts looking after me from my GP to the original operation to remove the tumour and the following 2 weeks in hospital recovering, to the ongoing Chemo therapy that I have every 2 weeks, I could not be more inspired. by the care and professionalism of the medical staff it is simply outstanding.
My work with Kalan started after I was discharged from hospital, initially to work on the after effects of the operation and to regain movement in my abdomen due to the scare from my pelvic bone to my ribs the dissected my abbs. This mainly involved using pilates and general stretching to mobilise my abdomen region and gently get the rest of my body mobilised. Once I started my chemo we had to look at the programme differently to increase my muscle mass and weight due to substantial weight lose from the dietary changes and the nutritional requirements for CHRUSHING cancer. Kalan worked hard to research the best methods for doing this and also researching a nutritionist who specialised in this area (Amy Lloyd), I also been privileged to have Dan, Riley and Luke step up and assist me when Kalan has not been available.
The current program of 3 sessions in the week of my chemo and 1 session in the alternate week, involves pilates, weights and movement exercises to both increase flexibility and muscle enabling me to cope better with the side effects of Chemo and increase my tolerance to infections by adding my immune system.
On a personal note, probably the most important aspect of coming to Beat Body is the mental break I get from the day to day battles of dealing with this disease, from being greeted by Chloe’s or Leah’s smiling faces and a chat about how I’m coping to the mental offloading of my symptoms with Kalan and Riley, the compassion and genuine care they show is a big part of the reasons I’m “CRUSHING IT”
Have a great day and thankyou to all the Best Body team for what they do for all the people that need there expertise and help.
Winning Entry #4: Marina Lovegrove (Best Body North Perth Ambassador)
“I LOVE reformer pilates. I was going to classes at happy physio via classpass the last few years and i loved every minute of it! I had a bit of a rough 2018 and needed major hip surgery (a peri-acetabular osteotomy to be exact). I had to re-learn how to walk again at age 29 which was so much harder then expected and I had 10 weeks off work. The surgery was a lot more difficulty then I expected and I have had to learn to be very patient during this journey, not to mention that surgery and rehab is a costly exercise!!! It has been 6 months post surgery now and I have been working hard on my rehab. My goal with my physio was to get back to the reformer pilates classes that I used to do as I miss it so much!!! when I was able to engage in clinical pilates with my physio, it felt sooo good to get back onto a reformer and it put such a smile on my dial and made me feel somewhat “normal” again. If i was to win this 6 month Best Body Reformer Pilates membership, it would help me to continue to build my fitness/muscle strength post surgery (i very much underestimated how quickly muscle wastes away when you can’t use it), build my body confidence again after such a big surgery and help me get back to my pre-surgery somewhat toned body. Not to mention it would help me smash my goal of getting back into the reformer pilates group classes – the goal i had set with my physio post surgery/rehab!!!”
