[Note: In my last post, I left you with a cliffhanger. I resolved that cliffhanger yesterday on our VIP Intro Program email list.]
My journey started with a heart-wrenching loss.
Right before my first week at Curtin University, I got the call.
Nan, my beautiful grandmother, had passed from cancer.
The decision loomed: fly back to Tasmania for her funeral or dive into my demanding physiotherapy studies in Perth.
“What would Nan want me to do?” I pondered.
She’d want me to stay and focus.
A choice I’ll forever question.
Her loss ignited a fire within me, fuelling my commitment to make her proud through my career as a health professional.
Over the past 13 years, we’ve aided thousands of women in Western Australia.
But I noticed something.
Many women, the selfless souls, had neglected their own care for years.
They felt the first step towards selfcare was a mountain too high.
This observation, intertwined with my personal experience with Nan, birthed the need for a New Intro Program.
Navigating through my studies, the medical profession’s reactive nature glared back at me.
Countless patients with preventable issues echoed the tragedy of Nan’s passing.
Her sedentary lifestyle, based on poor advice for health and medical professionals, contributed to her cancer.
A painful echo of missed opportunities for better health and wellness.
Traditional health professionals’ approach frustrated me.
They were treating symptoms, not the root.
A community endlessly treated with antibiotics for illness, no one checking the contaminated well they drank from.
This frustration birthed a commitment within me.
To always discuss exercise and lifestyle with my clients.
The conversation I yearn someone had with Nan.
I vowed to explore each individual’s opportunities to maximise their health, happiness, and longevity.
This commitment blossomed into a core value, leading me to open a Physiotherapy and Pilates practice straight out of university.
A service I wholeheartedly believed in, a proactive service absent in Perth at the time.
Today, many health professionals still remain in the dark.
They continue the cycle of symptom treatment, depriving individuals of the care they deserve or need.
At Best Body, our mission is clear.
To help mothers and family members prioritise selfcare, avoiding the pitfalls of neglect and savouring quality moments with loved ones.
My Nan and my daughters will never meet.
But I believe it could have been possible if she was supported to prioritise selfcare.
This belief fuels my excitement for the New Intro Program at Best Body.
Designed for women who have always deferred it, uncomfortable taking the first step, or feeling they’re too far gone.
It’s their time to prioritise themselves.
Join us in this transformative journey.
Prioritise your selfcare.
Live a healthier, happier life.
Let’s make a meaningful difference in our lives and the lives of our loved ones together.
Stay tuned for more details about the New Intro Program.
